I perceive it as the music of Earth, the memory of this material held in sound, beyond all speculation and transfiguration. This music is often described as full of secrets. The listener may agree, and this is good. When the stones begin to sound, a breath-like ether pervades the room. This breath becomes a note, swelling and subsiding, spreading throughout the space until the deep sound sets the floor vibrating and a murmur fills every corner of the room. (FAZ review) To me this music is weightless, beyond time, has its own power and effect, and belongs to no culture. These stone objects suddenly lose their rigidity, pulsate in space and recount stories of ages long past. (Words of a critic) I can accept this. To me music is the highest form of cooperation, the antithesis of competition. But playing the SoundStone is much more. Not only is it the supreme form of human expression, but also a daily exercise to avoid tyranny and its practice. Klaus Feßmann StoneSoundSamples: 1. Soundsample CD AQUA 2.
