Stones,
matter beyond transformation,
as Eugen Drewermann says,
material in which sound lives,
unique sounds,
unparalled music,
perhaps, probably
primordial music
that changes depending on
where the stone came from.
The cello, tuned
in accord with the stone,
connects everything.
The stone, a metaphor for silence,
becomes sound; alive,
with spirit, matchless.
Konrad Götz has depicted the score.
We have been working together for several years
to make this music come alive, visibly and audibly.
His photographs make the score visible.
Wet fingers and hands,
make large, polished, cut blocks
vibrate,
while water and stone percussion
add the rhythm.
The developed music
is weightless, beyond time,
with its own power and effect,
moving and uniting.
Using seismographic methods, Konrad Götz
makes these effects visible.
